: In present, the fly ash from combustion of coal and biomass from the biggest producers in Žilina region is deposited to ponds and in this way is devalued to use it in future as material in civil engineering. In this region is planned construction of road, on the basis the fly ash can be utilized to its construction as an addicion to concrete, because of its properties. Temporary storage of fly ash near the road brings outlook in the future by utilization of fly ash, but the storage represents many negative effects to the environment. According to requirements of standards and legislation, it is neccesary to place this activity to have the lowest impact to environmental components. Dust, disruption of ecological stability of landscape, a soil take, negative visual scene, possibility of soil and water contamination, destruction of habitats, formation of anthropogenic and invasive species and change of microclimate in land belong to the most important supposed impacts. In this paper are evaluated two variants of situation fly ash storage and described individual effects to environment and chosen variant, which has the smallest effect.
