This study emphasizes the noticeable impact of climate trend changes on the activation of geomorphological processes and landscape alterations in the lake catchment areas of the High Tatra Mts. Current morphodynamic transformations - rock avalanches and increased debris areas within the catchments of the studied lakes (Zelené pleso Kežmarské and Čierne pleso Kežmarské), underline the necessity for rigorous monitoring of these events and their interrelationships. The study contemplates how these changes will affect these pivotal natural ecosystems (lake siltation – water resources, water quality) and human activities (tourism, etc.) in this high-altitude environment.
