According to previously elaborated landscape study, the contribution brings the results of landscape explorations and landscape character assessment of Podkonice study area. Firstly, the natural, cultural and historical characteristics were analysed in order to point out the the potential for recreation and rural tourism in this area. Based on detailed field research, the current status and perceptual characteristics of the territory were analysed, and values and problems were identified.One of main objectives was, to design an optimal spatial configuration and increase the value of rural landscape conditions. Finally, suggestions of revitalisation measures, restorations of historical landscape structures and protection of landscape character were defined.
