The main aim of research is to determine potentially bioavailable fractions of mercury (Hg) in area of Veľká Studňa dump-field (Malachov, Central Slovakia). In total, 12 sites were sampled. In the order to analyze these forms, single extraction was selected, accordingly the soil samples were dissolved in following substances: deionized water, ammonium acetate (pH 7; pH 5), solution of organic acids (oxalic, citric, malic, lactic in the ratio 4 : 2 : 1 : 1). The final solutions were analyzed by mass spectrometry with inducted coupled plasma (ICP-MS). The evaluation of results included the statistical correlation with soil pH and organic matter content. The highest average Hg content was found in soil solutions with organic acids (0.0137 mg kg-1), while the lowest in the ones with deionized water (0.0013 mg kg-1).
