Occurrence of firm airborne emissions in the dwarf pine stomatal apertures was observed by using of a scanning electron microscopy. Needle samples were taken from the Furkotská dolina valley in the Vysoké Tatry Mountains. Obtained results confirmed the occurrence of globular and unregular shape emission particles in the needle stomata. On the surface of some observed needles from dwarf pine individuals damaged by emissions there was recorded an increased occurrence of fungi mycelium. Such damaged needles had also a lower content of wax structures in the stomatal apertures and their surroundings.
