The method used for the field measurements of the carbon dioxide efflux from the soil or woodytissues is described in this paper. According to the presented formula, some results are indicated about respiration measurements performed during one day in August 98, on the study site. The CO2 efflux from the soil was estimated to be 448 mmol CO2m-2d-1 while the stem respiration was of 56 mmol CO2 m-2d-1 and branch respiration of 70 mmol CO2m-2d-1.
