Survival of tree and herbaceous species and their regeneration were studied in forest stands and meadows of the National Nature Reservation Dolný les in the alluvial plane of Morava river. There were found out three types of plant reaction to the high water level – premature depigmentation, defoliation and loss of turgor and extinction. In the course of vegetation regeneration two phases appeared – vegetative (growth of new leaves, twigs, individuals) and generative (germination from diaspores, second flowering). European dewberry, New York aster, meadow foxtail is ascertained to have quick regeneration.
