Individual components of the environment are influenced by amelioration measures that considerably take part in the process of formation of agricultural landscape. If in the stages of planning amelioration, its realization and also exploitation the environmental criteria are kept, merits overtop the eventual negatives. This is solved also legislatively, because extensive ameliorative interference must be evaluated according to the law of the National Council of the Slovak Republic No. 127/1994 Collection of Laws on the Environmental Impact Assessment. Ameliorative measures (specifically depending to the their type) will keep on being more and more important. They are connected e.g. with the global warming and increase of the quality and quantity of agricultural production. Amelioration works are also important elements in landscape formation as we are convinced by foreign experience e.g. from the Netherlands.
